Aristotle & Larry
the Cable Guy

You'll never find a warmer,
kinder and more gentle country girl.
From deep within Appalachia,
Patty tells her tale of The Dog.
Through the words of the most brilliant, fully-conscious humans before us, Good Dog awakens our inner wisdom, reassuring us that we are worthy, that we are important, that we have a purpose and that it’s up to us to pull from those precious resources and follow the wisdom of the ages, advice passed along possibly for just that purpose, to help us.
I doubt any of these sages of the past ever realized, at the time, how their words, mixed together with other words, from other brilliant minds throughout time, cut and pasted into a computer, formatted and electronically scattered throughout the world under the title “Daily Good Dog Feedings” … I doubt very much if they could possibly imagine how their words could radically alter lives, today! Ahhh, the power of the pen is truly immortal.
Me thinks some of the ancients would roll over in their graves if they saw their words along side“Larry the Cable Guy.”
Encouragement and Inspiration doesn't come easy in this weary world, however, the Good Dog provides both to me. When I feel like I can barely get by, when I’m leaning on a hope and a prayer to make it through a single day of my life - Good Dog often comes to my rescue. The Dog has provided me with a bank of positive energy to fall upon when all seems lost.
A friend who received The Dog recommended it to me and it has transformed my outlook on life so much that I can never thank her enough for introducing me to powerful daily insights and positive life-affirming messages!
It’s rare to find someone that understands the obstacles and challenges that life can throw at those suffering, (or enduring I should say), the swings, depths, heights, and endless confrontation with life in general, more than the author of the Good Dog.
Often I cut and paste the most touching posts and quotes into my own storage of journals in order to get strength from them when my stamina has been exhausted, be it just from exiting the bed in the morning to deciding what to wear once my body has heaved itself out and begins to face the day; or to those times when I find no point in keeping up the pace or fighting the good race any longer.
"The words are not just words ... they are the light at the end of the tunnel once the roaring train has sped by, they are the scissors that cut the strings of the mask and allow one to be themselves and accepted within regardless of any stigmas, stereotyping or finger pointing that one may be unfortunate enough to withstand."
You personally offer a new insight to the often misunderstood world of mental illness, specifically Bi-Polar disorder, which you so generously and honestly share with the world, in your journals. This is not an illness of the unfortunate souls, as the world often believes it is, but the gifted in so many diverse ways, and you, yes YOU understand and know this to the depths of your soul and it shows my friend, it shows.
As we share this challenge, (BiPolar Disorder), I 'know' that you know - me. Through your compilation of such a variety of topics and healing words, you help to make my condition a little easier to overcome, a little easier to face each morning … and I personally feel relieved and anxious for the next set of encouragement each time I see your name in my inbox. For that I thank you, for the virtual hand of comfort and complete acceptance of diversity I praise you, and for the friendship you offer to us all I am grateful.
Thank you dear sir, thank you for your daily blessing, for your encouragement, for your endless attempts to keep us facing the light and helping us realize that we are all children of the light, regardless of our challenges in life.
Without your newsletter I often found myself scouring websites for inspiration and the mysteries of this ordeal I face (Bi-Polar disorder). There will never be a way to thank you enough for all the hard work you do in order to keep us from that cliff’s ever tempting edge. With your intense love for all humankind, be they marred, scarred or tainted in some way, you have definitely earned a crown in heaven for your good heart and good intentions of helping those that may not be able to help themselves.
And you say, “Only through offering quotes?” and I reply “Yes sir, yes sir indeed for the power of the written or spoken word can change lives and open eyes along with change attitudes and pry open hearts that have long lost their locks.” Please keep up the good work. So many of us have come to rely on the astuteness that you provide.
Thank you again Good Dog. You are a blessing to us all!"
Sincerely,
